Peyronie's disease: is the growth of fibrous tissue inside the penis and causes a curved and painful erection.
It can either prevent you from having sex or make it difficult to have an erection.
In most cases it can be stable or worsen, and also cause stress and anxiety for men.
As for the symptoms, they may appear suddenly or gradually develop and include the following:
Scarring tissue: you can feel scar tissue caused by Peyronie's disease under the skin of the penis as if it were hard tissue.
Significant curvature of the penis: the penis bends up, down, or one side.
Erectile problems: causes erection problems or erectile dysfunction.
Short penis length: The penis becomes shorter as a result of Peyronie's disease.
Pain: You suffer from penis pain, whether during an erection or otherwise.
The causes of the disease are not known, but it is possible due to several factors such as:
Frequent penis injuries
Connective tissue disorders.
Genetic causes: If your father or brother suffers from it.
Age: the prevalence of the disease increases with age, especially for men over 55.
Complications of the disease may include:
Inability to have sexual intercourse.
Difficulty developing or maintaining an erection (erectile dysfunction).
Worrying about your sexual abilities or the appearance of the penis.
Stress your relationship with your sexual partner.
Difficulty having a child because of intercourse difficult or impossible.
