The incidence of the lower urethra varies from child to child because it depends on the type of condition and how far the urine opening is from its normal location.
Therefore the cases of the lower urethra are divided into degrees by which we can determine the extent of the problem in the child.
Types of difference of the lower urethra in children are:
Subcoronal:
In this case, the urine opening is below the head of the child's penis.
Midshaft:
And in it the urine hole is located in the middle of the child's male organ
Penoscrotal:
In this case, the urine opening is located in the area where the penis meets the testicle cyst.
Treatment of the lower urethra:
Some forms of the lower urethra are very slight and surgery is not required.
However, treatment usually includes surgery to reposition the urethra.
Usually surgery is done between the ages of 6 and 18 months.
If the penis appears to you abnormally, it is important not to be circumcised.
Either way, we recommend that you go to a pediatric urologist.
And if the lower urethra is not treated, it can cause complications such as:
Abnormal penis appearance.
Problems using the toilet.
Abnormal curvature of the penis with an erection.
Problems with poor ejaculation.
